Private chats, hashtags, and online forums can act as entry points, small steps into more closed, radical spaces. As people grow more involved, the “us vs. them” mindset takes hold. Others are dehumanized, the world becomes divided into good and evil, and misinformation fuels the fire.
In the end, it’s not just algorithms or extremists that radicalize people; it’s the combination of technology, psychology, and loneliness. Understanding how it happens is the first step toward recognizing it in ourselves and protecting others from falling into the same digital traps.
